Marisa Vachon Let's Talk about Sex, Power, and Money! "Talk about sex, power and money" he said as he crosses "moving bed" on a to-do list of the day he had written with his girlfriend over breakfast. We had just unloaded my bed, and he was contemplating what to do next from their list of wishes: work in the garden seemed to be next as dancing and making love were already partially fulfilled… There is so much we can do in a day; especially if it is an open day when we can do anything we want!
I was not present for their discussion but the topics of sex, power and money have been coming up a lot lately in conversation, book's contents as well as in the field of my awareness.
As we are entering the summer season, the yang force is in full expansion, the heat, the long days and the abundance of blossoms are here! It is also the season of the heart according to Medicine of the east. The heart… wow, listening to my heart beat! At this very moment taking the time to quiet myself enough so I can feel my heart and the sensations around it. The heart is said to be the residence of Shen or spirit. It is here that much come to fruition into harvest. It is also connected with the emotions of joy and love.
"Love does not conquer everything but it sets everything right",states "A Course in Miracles". Like blood, when the energy of love circulate through the body it is very healing. Love is union, synergy, and communion. When love is placed in the equation of sex, power and money, everything starts vibrating at a higher frequency! The whole of creation quite literally was brought about by the power of love.
Since we both emit and receive vibration at the same time, what we choose to align with will influence all our perceptions and interaction as well as what we receive from the world. By contrast of the love vibration, when we align ourselves with a belief in scarcity, everything starts vibrating with the energy of fear.
At this very moment we all have the power to wake up to our beingness; to pay attention, to attend to the body, mind and spirit. Am I relaxed or tense? Is there flow or resistance in my attitude? What am I committed to? How am I engaged with the world around me? Am I honouring of the love vibration or do I choose toxic emotions? Is there openness to what is as it is? "Namah!" they say in the Vedanta wisdom of the East! As it is, as it is… Or for a Beatle's take on this idea "Let it be!"
Pay attention gently as if not to scare a little creature you want to befriend. Suspending judgment and giving full presence to being. Taking the time to contemplate for yourself the questions asked so many times to others: "How are you right now my friend?"
You gonna have to serve somebody! The way I feel is an indicator of what I give power to. What am I serving at this moment? Am I grateful for the abundance all around? Or am I focusing on what is missing? What is the vibration I choose as I wake in the morning?
This simple practice is empowering for me in the midst of all dimensions of life, it gives me a centre from which to hold the sword of discernment. From this place, I am able to access a situation with more insight, clarity of sight and presence. Authenticity is then possible and the capacity to speak my truth. There is ownership to my resonance and less blaming. It gives me the power to readjust my aim and my attitudes; this is the only power I feel I really have.
When I succeed in refocusing my energy as I remember that I truly want to serve the love vibration, very quickly I feel more connected and less separated. In the heat of conflict, I can soften. As soon as I can do this I am liberated from much useless dramas.
What is essential is invisible to the eyes a little prince said….oh but how mighty is the power of love! Have a glorious summer and enjoy a land of plenty!
