In my studies of anatomy I learn about the basic needs for individuals to sustain life; nutrients, oxygen, water, body temperature and atmospheric pressure are listed as such. It is when these needs are met that we are allowed the space & time in our lives to fulfill our soul’s purpose and truly find happiness and freedom. Coming together in community increases our powers of manifestation dramatically by directing mass energies toward our common goals.
Reflecting these thoughts onto a greater scale we are required to acknowledge the necessity to live cohesively with our planet earth and our connection the universe as a whole. For example, one of our most basic needs being for oxygen is directly correlated to the existence of trees. When we respect the unity of all components of our existence we experience the power behind it and the reasons to celebrate.
The theme of the Summer Solstice Issue is Unity, Power & Celebration – Our feature article by Padma, Unity through Non-Dual Awareness and Sobey’s Article Unity, Power & Manifestation provoke thought on the concept. We have profiled Flow Festival which is an incredible festival combining arts and activism to bring increased attention and action to our water issues.
We each have unique gifts to share, fitting like puzzle pieces it is by following our authentic path and sharing our talents that we are able to contribute to the greater whole. My life recently has been blessed with Unity, Power & Celebration in a variety of forms; including family unity in difficult times, new friends to share dreams with and community events to inspire.
I attend the Vancouver Mountain Film Festival at the Capitol Theatre which is currently touring across Canada to a variety of cities and small towns. The festival not only shared the beauty of the natural landscapes of the world but also demonstrated our need to unify to protect the beauty that ensures our health and survival as a planet. The festival shared films by local film makers expressing their unique love and passion for nature and community. Existing models and suggestions on how to proceed shed a positive light on the situation and how by coming together we have the power to impact change.
Celebrating together serves throughout the life process by fueling our dreams, by providing a platform to manifest and by giving thanks for our accomplishments. Last night at Ricardo’s 12th annual Solstice Celebration in Winlaw the fire burned high, the sweet music guided our bodies in dance while children played. This season brings about many opportunities to come together and manifest our dreams. It is time to support and share with one another by simply coming out and letting your light shine!
